Submission of papers

All papers should be submitted electronically through paperplaza. The normal requirement of six sides maximum applies.

Session proposals should be emailed directly to the IPC chair Sebastian Dormido, but authors invited to contribute to these sessions should submit the associated papers through paperplaza.

Papers will be grouped into the appropriate special sessions after acceptance and receipt of the final version.

For authors

Authors must prepare an electronic version of the full paper according to the required paper style and submit it in the required file format. For more details, see the Information for IFAC authors.

Papers that do not meet the required specifications will not be included in the final conference proceedings.

The paper should be prepared in final proceedings form (not exceeding six pages) according to the IFAC LaTeX file guidelines.

For authors using Microsoft Word, the compressed file ifacconf_office.zip is available, containing the template and a sample PDF file.

File format

You have to submit your paper only in proper PDF (Adobe Portable Document Format). The maximum size for your file is 1.5 MB.

Manuscript submission

Submissions for contributed papers have to be made electronically through paperplaza.

Copyright

For IFAC Copyright conditions, read the following material.

Download the Copyright Form for the paper accepted for presentation at ACE 2013.

Please return the completed and signed original of this form. E-mail a scanned copy, in PDF format, of the signed original to ace2013@shef.ac.uk. Retain a copy for your files.

A paper cannot be included in the conference proceedings if the related copyright is not transferred to IFAC.

Publication of papers

Papers should follow the normal guidelines for IFAC events available on the IFAC website.

  • Accepted and presented papers will be published on a dedicated website. The name of the site is IFAC-PapersOnLine.net

  • All papers published on the website can be cited using the site ISSN, the event ISBN, and the individual paper DOI.

  • All submissions must be written in English, and only PDF files are accepted.

  • All papers must be prepared in a two-column format in accordance with the IFAC manuscript style.

  • The copyrights (in electronic form) of all papers are transferred to IFAC when the submission of the camera-ready form of accepted papers is completed.

IFAC Copyright conditions

The material submitted for presentation at an IFAC meeting (Congress, Symposium, Conference, Workshop) must be original, not published or being considered elsewhere. All papers accepted for presentation will appear in the Preprints of the meeting and will be distributed to the participants.

Proceedings of the IFAC Congress, Symposia, Conferences and Workshops will be hosted on-line on the IFAC PapersOnLine.net website. The presented papers will be further screened for possible publication in the IFAC Journals (Automatica, Control Engineering Practice, Annual Reviews in Control, Journal of Process Control, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, and Mechatronics), or in IFAC affiliated journals. All papers presented will be recorded as an IFAC Publication.

Copyright of material presented at an IFAC meeting is held by IFAC. Authors will be required to transfer copyrights electronically and/or in hard copy. The IFAC Journals and, after these, IFAC affiliated journals have priority access to all contributions presented.

However, if the author is not contacted by an editor of these journals, within three months after the meeting, they are free to submit an expanded version of the presented material for journal publication elsewhere.

In this case, the paper must carry a reference to the IFAC meeting where it was originally presented. If the paper has appeared on the website (http://www.ifac-papersonline.net), a reference to this publication is required.
